Emerald Island Heavy Duty Diode Board

Sold for many years by importers around the world, this very durable heavy duty diode board is a direct replacement for the original at a fraction of the price. It has been sold under different brand names over the years, and there is even a pirated unauthorized Chinese clone on the market (with lower quality components) but this is the original. With upgraded proprietery high voltage diodes and large over-sized heat sinks, this item is famous for its durability having withstood the test of time and is a direct bolt on replacement for the failure prone original board. Two year warranty.

Kit includes:

Heavy duty diode board

Additional ground wires

New positive red wire

Harness from diode board to alternator

"Y" wire from diode board to Y connection on alternator


Installation hints:

The original red wire from right side of diode board as you face it attaches to the right side of the new board.

Blue wire from back of original board goes to back of new board

The wire on the terminal marked "Y" goes to the Y terminal on the alternator housing. 

Terminals marked U, V and W go to the three outputs on the front of the alternator, it doesn’t matter in which order.  

The brown wires are optional grounds and not needed if there are no rubber mounts. You will notice the lower diode board mounts are marked with the letter "G" which means ground. If desired for maximum grounding of the board, install the brown wires from lower two diode board mounts to the top two alternator housing bolts. 

The new red wire is just an extra in case your original red wire is not in good condition, 

Note: If your bike is 1000cc with rubber mounts we recommend the metal solid mounts in place of the stock rubber mounts due to the additional weight of the heavy duty diode board.
