*Recommendation: Please note that it is extremely difficult to access the Threaded Preload Adjuster on this model. Therefore it is HIGHLY recommended that this product be purchased with the Hydraulic Preload Adjuster option. The Threaded Preload Adjuster is designed for the rider whose loads do not change and therefore seldom needs to adjust the spring tension on the rear shock.
TFX shocks are engineered and manufactured from the best possible materials to guarantee you a shock you can rely on for many years and will fulfill your needs on the road, trail, or track!

REAR TFX SHOCK
Location:
Date: May 24, 2022
Mike W (Spokane) here. Finally got to ride the bike with the new rear shock installed. Sooooo much nicer! Just flat out handles better. Not off road yet but pavement is huge thumbs up. Next year the front! Will update you after I get some dirt and again after a 10 day July trip.
Just wanted to let you know I appreciate all the extra time you took to walk me through the best shock for my needs. It certainly gave me confidence that my selection would be right and lo and behold it was! :)
Until next time and thanks again Ted!

Ted: The new TFX reservoir front and rear suspension on my 2005 R1200GS loaded with paniers and gear, feels planted, stable and straight tracking on road, very confidence inspiring but …OK, its better, worth $2100??? Hmmm. Got in the dirt yesterday and now on washboard - tracks super straight, no wiggle to the side or feel of floating - mirrors and bars stable and not jittery - this is better. Then got into deep sand with ruts from prior bikes OMG! Old stock suspension, standing, the bike would wiggle and need a bit of body english constantly (like you were on the edge of auguring in all the time) and very gentle hand pressure but now - NONE OF THAT! ? Standing up it simply tracks straight ahead - what? Are we in sand? Yup holy cow this is amazing. OK now into a sand riverbed and up the bank with a few grapefruit rocks … it starts a wiggle and front end dive to side so a teeny throttle jab and the front straightens right up, rear tracks up - GEEZ THIS IS GREAT! Can suspension do this? It feels like the 650lbs under me WANTS to stay pointed right ahead and going - like the german panzer it is … My buddy on a KLR complains his is dancing under him, feet out, jiggling along and here I stand plowing right ahead! Then I sit down like he does and yikes! Here comes the shaky jiggles, dives to right and left - stand up and YES BOSS we going straight ahead now…. HAAA! SWEEEEETTTT!!!! Yes worth $2100 - amazing. Now I'm afraid to mess with any settings it was so great. Plus I've got to be careful, this thing make me feel I've been hit with a pro-stick and am fantastic rider, meaning I can now get so far in over my head so mu ch faster … very cool. Thank You. Jim Btw: installing front shock I had to rig a little mount to move the horn in order to clear reservoir and give clear shot at adjustment on shock. Plus even with brake line strain relief pulled the front didn’t get low enough to let the shock into the teeny hole. My buddy suggests tie down with cranks on them, balance all that, crank the new shock down and two of us get it aimed to the little hole then RELEASE and Thank The Gods it went in. The cranking strap and a friend really helped. Cannisterectomy went well too. Thank You Again!
