TracTive X-CITE-PA Rear Shock | R1200RT '05-'13

I have been known as someone who is hard to impress. This is not the case with Ted Porter’s BeemerShop. I purchased a 2005 BMW R1200RT last fall and have nearly completed a full-on restoration/rebuild of the entire machine. This bike started with the stock ESA suspension and although it still worked, it was time to replace it after rebuilding the entire suspension. I have a set of Wilbers non-ESA shocks that I installed, but they didn’t seem to be any different from the OEM shocks. I contacted Ted via e-mail about any options that might be an improvement over what I have and after several phone calls I decided to forgo the Wilbers for a set of non-ESA TracTive shocks. His professional advice was instrumental in my decision to purchase both the TracTive X-CITE PA rear shock as well as the TracTive X-CITE front shock. Together these 2 shocks have transformed my bike into a thoroughly enjoyable ride! They are built tough with a noticeably larger 16mm ChromeMoly piston rods as well as a few other internal engineering improvements and have stainless steel mounting bushings, which are far better than brass or aluminum. To top it off, Ted pre-assembled them according to my weight and riding style. I am simply overjoyed with this investment and the “above and beyond” customer service that I received both during and after the sale. I have a new bike! My 15 year old well-maintained non-ESA 2007 BMW R1200RT has been totally transformed by my new TracTive shocks front and rear. On the one hand it's an expensive upgrade on an older bike. But on the other hand it makes such a transformative change that it is like getting a new bike on the cheap. Ride and handling are both vastly improved and probably more important my confidence in the bike is greatly increased. I have a 2018 Porsche Cayman and I would say my RT now has a combination of comfort, handling and security comparable to what I experience in that car. And, also like the Porsche, you can just feel the quality of the TracTive product. But equal to all that is the customer service I received from Ted and Josh. I probably spent a total of three hours on the phone with them getting my questions answered and helping me decide which shocks to buy.
