TracTive X-TREME PRO Rear Shock (+20mm) Long Travel / Norden 901 Expedition
Ultimate performance shock absorber with adjustable rebound, and high and low-speed compression damping adjust. Preload adjustable. PDSII anti bottoming valve. This shock is the choice for customers who want complete control over all damping functions for any condition. It is easy to find the sweet spot for maximum comfort and traction and every clicker adjustment brings a noticeable change in damping level.
This top of the line TracTive X-Treme shock uses a damping shim stack uniquely developed for its specific application. The hard anodized forged aluminum shock body creates maximum thermal stability though optimal heat dissipation. This ensures not only stable fade-free performance but also reduces stress on the shock components and prevents premature breakdown of the shock oil.
To create the best performance for every model TracTive incorporates high flow pistons, low friction seals, and dedicated shim stacks. They use best in class heavy duty components like micro finished induction hardened, quenched & tempered 42CrMo 16mm piston rods, highest quality bearings and stainless steel bushings. Every shock can be opened and serviced, or even custom valved in-house for unique conditions. For all shocks there is a wide range of springs available to suit any load. Every shock has a QR code that leads to an internet page with all factory advised settings.
The main advantage of a damper with an external reservoir is ot contains significantly more oil and more cooling surface than a shock without a reservoir. It additionally offers the tuning capabilities to control the compression oil flow independently of the rebound adjuster. Two separate adjusters control the compression damping, one for slower compression speeds for smaller bumps and chassis rocking movements, and a separate adjuster for higher compression speeds such as larger more square shaped bumps or high speed landing after off-weighting the suspension.
The X-Treme shock is equipped with a PDSII anti-bottoming
valve. It has a second damping piston mounted on top of the main damping
piston. At the end of the compression stroke, this second damping piston enters
a cup in the roof of the shock adding additional compression damping. It effectively
acts as a cushion at the end of stroke preventing a hard bottom-out leading to increased
comfort and control. This also reduces bottoming impacts on the bike’s frame
and mounting hardware leading to fewer damaged bolts and frame mounts.
