Wilbers Zero Friction Progressive Fork Springs / Tiger 900 Rally Pro '20-On
It's a great bike but it has a soggy fork due to being fitted with a one-size-fits-all fork spring that is a bit on the soft side for some riders. The stock spring is a two stage progressive starting at 5.7 N/mm, ending at 6.9 N/mm. These Wilbers polished Zero Friction Fork Springs start at 6.0 N/mm and ramp up to 8.0 N/mm as they compress, for a 6% initial rate increase, rising as it compresses to a 15% rate increase. This really helps to resist excessive nosedive under braking, and blowing through the stoke too fast when adventure riding, while still providing comfort during small compression events.
Please note:
7wt oil is recommended for general purpose and for more dirt road riding.
10wt oil is recommended for sport-oriented street riding.
Air chamber is 120mm with springs removed and forks completely compressed.
Instructions for setting air chamber:
1) Remove fork spring and drain old oil.
2) Compress fork fully with spring removed.
3) Add oil until oil level is 120 mm from the top of the tube - this is your air chamber.
Piston rods should be pumped several times to dispel any remaining air before final measurement is made.
